Illinois Teen of Impact Winner | April 2024

Hearts for Tomorrow participated in the American Heart Association’s Teen of Impact campaign and raised over $14,000, taking the lead as the team that created the most impact (through raising funds and awareness for heart disease) in Illinois.

Fundraiser at Chicagoland Showcase | March 2024

Hearts for Tomorrow set up a table at Chicagoland Showcase, a show choir competition hosting multiple schools from the midwest region, to raise awareness for heart disease and funds for heart disease research and education.

Classroom Heart Health Awareness/Fundraiser | March 2024

Through school-wide announcements, over 2,000 high school students learned about the risk factors and negatives of heart disease. Classrooms also raised funds for the American Heart Association.

CPR Event at JHHS | February 2024

Partnering with District 214 and the American Heart Association, Hearts for Tomorrow created an educational CPR event called Hersey’s Orange Goes Red that informed over 50 community members on the difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest, when to use CPR, and how to perform hands-only CPR through live demonstration.

Heart Healthy Sports Concessions | February 2024

Hearts for Tomorrow sold heart-healthy popcorn and water bottles at multiple JHHS basketball games to raise funds for the American Heart Association, which were used to support lifesaving research and educational events.

Hearts for Tomorrow introduced Thomas Middle School to heart health by displaying a presentation on the effects of heart disease and what kids can do to live a heart-healthy life. Classrooms then participated in an interactive quiz, and winners received a prize.
